Starch Europe Welcomes New Member OMNIA Europe

Brussels, Belgium 11 January 2023 - Starch Europe, the trade association representing the European starch industry, today announced the addition of OMNIA Europe as a new member.
Omnia Europe SA is a maize starch plant, located in Medgidia, Romania and is part of the Tosmur Group. It specializes in the production of niche and special products such as infant grade maltodextrin, organic maltodextrin and organic starch
“We are very happy to welcome OMNIA Europe to the Starch Europe family”, said Jamie Fortescue, Managing Director of Starch Europe. “Starch Europe continuously strives to represent the full breadth of EU starch producers, and already counts over 95% of the industry as members. With our Decarbonisation Roadmap, published last year, Starch Europe members have embarked upon an ambitious journey, and we are pleased to see more EU starch producers that share our ambitions joining us in this, and many other endeavours.”

The company already has a maize starch factory in Adana, Turkiye called Omnia Nisasta. Omnia Europe started up in March 2022 and has had a very successful introduction in the food and industrial market. This has resulted in the need for expansion, which will take place from 1 February 2023”, said Fatih Koç, Chief Executive Officer Omnia Europe.
