Starch Europe Announces Leadership Change
Brussels, Monday 6 January 2025 – Starch Europe announced today that Jamie Fortescue will step down from his position as Managing Director of the association of European starch producers on 9 February 2025.
Jamie has served the European starch industry association for the past 13 years, joining Starch Europe in January 2012.
Simultaneously, Starch Europe announced that Nelli Hajdu has been carefully selected to take up the position as the new Managing Director of Starch Europe.
“I would like to thank Jamie for his stewardship and dedication to our industry association over the past 13 years. Jamie has succesfully steered the association through transition and consolidation, but also through the last few challenging years for everyone", said Christophe Lescroart, President of Starch Europe. “Today we begin preparing for a new chapter for our industry’s representation in Brussels. We look forward to the leadership and experience that Nelli will bring to Starch Europe, all the more at a time where our industry will require more supportive, predictable and consistent public policies to maintain our competitiveness”.
Nelli has led the European Liaison Committee for Agricultural and Agri-Food Trade [CELCAA] through the last two years, notably playing an active role for CELCAA in the Forum for the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture.
Nelli will formally take up her new role at Starch Europe on 10 February 2025.
